Darrian B. Founder of Minority Uplift
My name is Darrian Broom. I am an Oklahoma native born into a Democratic Christian family. I survived a miracle birth weighing only 1lb 7.5 oz. My families love, support and prayers helped see me thru and planted my foundation in Christianity. My passion for both religion and politics lead me to join the Young Democrats of America and start up our schools first religious group "The Classen Christian Club". I'm also a member of the Classen Earth Club, Black Student Union, and Business Professionals of America where I was chosen as Chaplain. Last year I was honored to be inducted into the National Honors Society where I thoroughly enjoyed doing volunteer work and being involved in several volunteer projects. I hope to use these experiences to expand my horizons so that I can do exceedingly great things in the future.

As an active member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church I joined the youth choir early on but later discovered that I had a gift for speaking and began speaking publicly. Although my public speaking began in church, it later spread to school and most recently outside events. I enrolled in the schools debate class and as part of the debate team I was awarded first place for Original Oratory at my very first tournament. I have been invited to speak at Tinker Air Force Base and awarded two highly esteemed medals by both the Navy and Air Force. I enjoy debating social issues and I love research and writing which I did a lot of in my Desktop Publishing class where I wrote for the school magazines' Religion and Politics section. My plan is to major in Political Science and minor in Religious Studies; from there I will go on to law school.
